Adjustable Rig Back Ordered - Temporary Solution?

I'm sorry to be such a pest with all of these questions, but we want buy (or order) everything we need and nothing we don't need when we buy the Large Egg.
Based on all of the recommendations here we decided to go with an Adjustable Rig, but today I see that it is back ordered with an estimated availability of August 1. The spider is available so I'll order one right away. The question is how to get the grate up to the level of the gasket at a minimum, and preferably even a bit higher. I'd be happy to buy any bits and pieces that would still be useful when I buy the Rig. If it makes a difference, I plan to buy a cast iron grate right away too, so we'll have the two grates to work with.
The Woo2 is also avaiable right now too. What would we be giving up if we went that way?

You can just use a couple of thin firebricks if tou have a second grill. I am in the same spot cause I had to put my large in storage and have only a medium without eggcessories. If you dont have a second grill then use three firebricks on the fire ring. It is not all that stable but it works.

If the rig is what you really want, before buying something else, give Tom (tjv) a call.

Or SS bolts/large washers/nuts.

Yep, my suggestion would be that. Just use the length bolts you need to get to the level you want, resting them on the fire ring.

A platesetter and/or raised grid would work just fine.

Hey Doug,here is a temporary solution if you need it.I found some L-brackets in the barn to raise the grid.I just put 5 of them around the fire ring then set the grid on top.
Also I needed more cooking surface,so I used this with some bolts.Hope this helps until you get your new toys :woohoo:
