I cooked some'en: Caveman pork and AZRP shrimp

My ridding partner and his wife came over tonight (don't you wish you lived closer Fidel) so did a quick burn. Fresh pork stakes and AZRP's hot and spicey shrimp. Wife and my "sis" like there pork done while me and my partner and me like a little life left in'em. Started by salting and peppering about 2 hrs b4 the cook. Added rosemarry to mine and this time drizzled ameretia liquare over them and let set. This gave a slight sweet taste that was subtal but unmistakable. Recommend! Threw on 600 pluse Egg for 45 seconds a side. No more as the fat and thin meat would burn any more. Let set for 15 min while killing fire to 350. Cooked womans to done and us cavemans to med rair on the grill. About 10 min turning each 3 min for the womans and 5 min. turning once for ours. Classic AZRP with ginger for the shrimp and a little no knead bread. Sorrry done in the oven but I'm pushing the medium Egg as it is. Sure need that small I have been lusting over but "all good things come to those who wait"!! :woohoo:

Cool, I wish we could let Grey have free reign of the house like Jake has, but I know the cats would have other ideas. -RP

What kind is Grey? African? We got two cats, Andy and Little Bitty and they know to let him be BUT unless we are in the house he stays up. They are cats after all. Jake is free flight as he never goes out side now due to West Nile virus so he has free run of house when we are home. He is house broke and goes back to his cage when he needs to go.

Grey is an African Grey Timna, a virtual 2 year old. -RP

I understand a 2 year old. Thats what I tell folks. The see Jake and think he's an angle but they dont see me tearing him up after he chewed a hole in wife's Lazyboy!! Just like having a kid. Lets see a pic of Gray! :woohoo:

GREAT pictures! Haven't tried pork steaks yet but after seeing your pictures it's a must.
Thanks! -
Yep, Half to 3/4 inch cheap pork stake.

Some of the grocery store chains here have been putting out some really nice, really thick (1.5 - 1.75") pork steaks and I'm hooked on them. I've been doing them lo n slo and they come out with a taste and texture not too far from pulled pork.
I'm still working up the guts to caveman some `en. . . -
I hate to be the one to tell you this but you don't need the small. As much, and as good a cook that you are, you really need the large. Just save up a little longer and visit one of the eggfests and get yourself a "deal". You never know who might drive a truck and could get it back to Arkansas for you.

Heck, if you pay for a large frome the PA eggfest I'll pick it up for ya and drop it off next time I'm in Arkansas

Thanks for the offer Joe but got to wait a bit. The reason I wanted the small was for sides and breads. I manage to cook sides with the main course but I have to plan everything close. IE bread at 450 then crank it up for Trexing or caveman ect. Wife is behind me saying get the large also so who knows. Don't thank the "shacks" big enough for a medium and a large w/o being cluttered!
