Picked up my Large BGE today. Have not had a chance to fire it up yet. Got the egg, eggnest, plate setter, cast iron grate and v-rack. Will do a little egging this weekend.

Got some damage to my pickup on the way to get it. Big truck with a tarp on it. Changed lanes in front of me, dumping wet concrete on my windshield, hood and right fender. I bout wet my pants. By time got of the freeway and found a hose, it was mostly dry. Paint job is screwed on fender and hood.

Nothing but praise for the people at The Grill Shop in Fort Worth TX. They let me pull my truck around back and hose it down. Didnt get the info off the truck, too busy trying not to wreck with a windshield covered 50% with quickcrete.

Congrats with the new Egg and welcome to the farm. Sorry to hear about the paint. Hope you have insurance! Kind of put a damper on the new Egg. A couple meals off it and you'll be right as rain! ;) Be sure and post pics. We love pics hear just size them where we ALL can see!

Hey batt-man, welcome to the EggNation. Congrats on the LGBE acquisition, and really sorry to hear about the damage to the vehicle. I'm just down I-35 from you, so if you're ever in the Round Rock area there's always a cold one in the fridge.

Have fun with the new cooker this weekend.
  • Sorry to hear about your truck. Sounds like some quick reactions avoided injury. If you haven't picked some up, you will want some gloves for handling a hot platesetter. I found some at a welding supply store. Put a pizza stone on your wish list. Welcome to the cult.

Glad to hear that you made it home OK! On the lighter side, you'll always have an interesting tale to tell about the day you "cemented" the deal on your first BGE!

If you haven't already seen the naked whiz website I would check it out for sure before your first egging experience www.nakedwhiz.com I call it infomation central when it comes to learning the egg.

Yes I have spent quite a bit of time at athe Naked Wiz site. Lots of good info. I was out doing family stuff today, but I managed to fire up the egg just to practice temp control. Threw on a couple of brats just for the heck of it. They came out real good. Took a minute to find the sweet spot for 250. Now I know where 250 is, I can walk the temp to where I need it.

Thanks everyone for the kind words.
