Wheels for table ?

My Hubby got a stainless steel cupboard/table to put the LBGE in but it needs wheels so we can move it if need be.
Hubby is looking at 4-inch Precision Bearing castor's made out of Thermoplastic Polyurethane and the weight rating on these wheels is 300 lbs.
Would these wheels be ok or should he be looking at some other kind of wheel? The BGE & table will be on the deck.

Auntie,
I have stationary( fixed) wheels on one end of my table and use vinyl shims to keep the front legs off of my deck. The shims let water dry out under the front legs of the table. My egg is covered and stays outside in the elements. The casters you describe sound healthy and should have no trouble supporting ur BGE.

Hey Auntie--

I've got 2" steel bearing casters on mine. They are rated @ 125lbs each ( x 4) and the are holding up just fine. The one ur describing sound expensive and perhaps a bit of an overkill, but better safe, right?

They sound fine. I'd recommend that at least two of them are "lockable" in case you need to park on an uneven surface (like my driveway).

Eggs and tables are heavy. Lots of folks do the 8 -10" wheels on the egg-end and casters on the other.

They sound about like the ones I used on my HEAVY table, they seem to be holding up very well, I don't think you will have any promblems with them as long as you are on a hard surface. They would be useless over grass.

Thank you to all for the information on the wheels. My Stainless Steel table/cabinet seems to be about the same size as the pic shown by Cpt’n Cook only it doesn’t have any legs ,, just has a top and bottom shelf where the egg is going to go so were going to have to put a 24X24 patio stone in the bottom then a couple of smaller patio stones on top of that to get the proper height for the egg to sit on so with the weight of the table say about 100 lbs then the egg at 140 and the patio stones? You’d be looking at 300 pds there then all the accessories in the table as well.

I will take a pic of the table after it’s been cleaned up and has the wheels on and the hole cut in the top. On one side it has a shelf so hubby is going to make a wooden door to put on the front of that.

I also want to make a egg lifter out of that yellow nylon rope so we’ll have to wait and see how that works out LOL

I did a lot of research on wheels and ended up buying this small movers dolly from Harbor Freight.

It was on sale at my local store for only $9.99 and it came with four wheels rated at 250 lbs. each. The wheels are 3" high and very durable with excellent ball bearings. I simply unbolted them from the dolly and bolted them on my egg table. You can't beat the price and they work great. I have wheeled a very heavy table with large egg across gravel, wet grass, and concrete and it worked fine. I had to push and pull a bit on the wet grass to prevent it from getting bogged down but it did ok.

Hey WileECoyote that’s a great idea!! I was wondering about the wheels on the LBGE nest ,, taking them off and putting them on the table but I’m not quite sure if they would handle that kind of weight.

I also have to watch the height of the egg/table as well cause I’m not that tall and I don’t want hubby to have to build me a step stool so I can reach the egg
