Congratulations! I look forward to reading about your experiences with it! I really like the idea of not having to get up in the middle of the night to check temps on long cooks, but haven't been able to pry open my wallet enough to pull the trigger!Large BGE and a couple non-greenies

Congratulations, you will love it.
Easy read and easy to use.

Man, I'm intrigued with the idea of letting something else control the cook. I'm kind of a gadget guy anyway. How much are they anyway?

Thanks Rascal

Now you can drink and do pork butts. I got a scare with mine the other day. Went outide and it was reading HHH. I thought I had fried a probe. It wasn't it wasn't just over the temperature limit.

Firetruck, if you are interested, you might like to take a look at my products review page. I have a review there of the DigiQ II and the ProCom4 from BBQ Guru, and the Stoker, another model from Rock's BBQ. Good luck!

FYI: Some here have said that it takes a master's degree in scientology (not the TC kind) to figure out the Maverick. I don't own any of the remote, auto-regulators, so I'm just relating what I've read.

Good deal!
Think I'll use mine tomorrow for some small butts. I told you it's a snap to use. Pushing in on the up/down button and hold opens the feture menue and each push of both buttons from there on change one feture to the other. Theres not many fetures, good, only ones you need. High/low alarm limit, open lid on/off, ramp on/off, alarm level, and farenhight/celceus. Let me know if you need anything. If we cant work it out quick on net shot me an email and I'll call you. -
Yeah whiz..between your site and the objective reviews I've heard from many here, I went with the DigiQ..but it was a tough decision..I really really like the networking capabilities of the stoker...I wasn't really planning to get either one..but the overnight cooks were getting to me..heh..getting too old I spose
 -
Will do JL..i'll prolly play with it this weekend.....

Congrats on the arrival of the Q! You'll have lots more time now to enjoy a beer, or perhaps sleep at night. Just plug in everything you're going to use before plugging it into the wall. The first few times I used the Q, I didn't use the meat probe--I just wanted to see how well the Q held the pit temp. Outstanding, by the way! I used the meat probe on a fattie just to see how the ramp mode worked, and I must say that it is a thing of beauty.
Enjoy cooking with the Q! -
Yeah was gonna use it tonight just to get the large up to temp for some burgers and to practice with it, then this dude that had been doing some work on my house came over and screwed my whole schedule up!!..grrr..oh well..plenty of time this weekend to try it.. :woohoo:

I think that's going to be my next big Egg acquiistion. I'm still on the fence between the Guru and the Stoker, though. Keep us updated on how you like it, will you?
