Maverick reading "HHH" - Help!

The food probe on my Maverick is reading "HHH" on the transmitter and receiver. I tried plugging it in to both the Food and Smoker outlets, and get the same results on both. I tried it with brand new batteries and still have the problem. Is my probe shot, or is there a problem with the unit? I've only used it about 5 times, and never at very high heat. Thanks!

That's happened to me twice with my ET-73. Both times it was the probes. The second time it happened, it was a new probe right out of the box. I called Maverick, and they replaced it free of charge.

Awesome! I'll try giving them a call. Any other experiences with this out there on the Eggernet?

yup - HHH means the probe has shorted out - it happened to me yesterday and as I searched for a replacement I found two others were bad as well. No need to save them when the go bad.Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

Good ol HHH, Its fried. Get the high heat 1 when you order a new 1

good suggestion, Marc. OTOH I already have some new spare high temp ones on hand. Even being careful with them they still go bad and typically it's cheaper to buy spares when you order due to S & H.Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

Can I use the hi-temp probe in my old meter, or will it still only go up to 400ish (can't remmeber how high it goes).

The Thermometer will only go to 410 degrees regardless of the limit of the probe.

Hi temp probes will work in your old meter. Mine do. They took over a month to arrive.
