Bought some 'ccessories the other day and planned on using them this morning. Guess what I found when I unwapped my brand, "spanking-new" BGE drip pan!!! Wondering if I should consider it pre-seasoned....

:( Hope you didn't have to pay extra for it being "pre seasoned" :(
Better Luck next time.

WOw, that's a travesty!
It's certainly spanked, but definitely not "new".
Was it your regular BBQ gear pusher??? -
Yea, local hardware venue. They'll get a visit in a little while!

"Sorry, you'll have to excuse our Quality Control Associate # 26. He's new....we just hired him from over at the place that makes those little hibachi grills."

Was the packaging fully intact or did it seem like it had been opened?Knoxville, TN
Nibble Me This -
It had been opened and taped closed. The packaging is such that it covered the entire bottom of the pan. I suspect that whoever bought it was very unhappy. I won't opt for a replacement and will look for something in ss.

Sorry to hear about that. I just go to Wally World and buy the cheapie aluminum pans to use for a drip pan. The one for my SBGE is actually a cake pan.
-
Beanie-Bean, I do the same but I get my disposables from the Dollar Store. I'm not sure if Wally World has them cheaper or not. I'll have to see if I can compare.

Ouch...that's a returner if there ever was one.
-
You’d be surprised how often OLD is returned as NEW.
Pay cash for a new _____.
Take it home.
Carefully open the package and replace the new _____ with your old worn out one.
Go back to the store during a busy time and ‘return’ the unwanted item for cash.
This is most common at the big box stores; Lowes, HD, WM, etc. If the packaging looks good, it will sometimes get put back on the shelf without anyone examining the contents.
