Well chicken is off the grill and into everyone's stomach. They said they were really moist and even the kids ate seconds. Already looking forward to next cook.
The Egg started easily. From my reading I was ready to put the meat on but waited the extra ten minutes like everyone suggests. Will need to work on controlling the temp and manipulating the vents but I did get it to hold a steady 325-350 degrees.
I'm sure the requests will begin from the wifey and her friends, but I can't refuse them because she did approve the purchase of the Eggs.

Can't pull up you pic. Did you ban gators???
said image removed from photobucket.
Hope all enjoyed your cook.
Pat -
Yeah Temp banned gators because I didn't know if you wanted to see gators all grilled up! Just joking.
Made a new folder in photobucket after I posted the thread, but I have moved them back to the original folder so it should work now. Sorry! -
Looks great

See it now. Thats some good looking chicken or is that steak??  . Just kidding great looking cook. Do you wish now that you fired the Egg up sooner??. Glad it went good for you and can't wait to see the final of the Egg-Ma-Hall. In the mean time EGG IT UP
Pat -
I'm full of ribs, tenderloin and shrimp, but your post just made me hungry. Going to have to get some chicken for tomorrow.
-
Poolman,
Yep sure wish I would have fired it up sooner, but contractor was supposed to be done and gone by now. He says he will be done by Friday, so hopefully come the weekend I will be grilling in the "Hall". -

OMG...That is one awesome cook. Were you surprised at the outcome of your first cook?

Congrats! You were more successful than I was with my first vook!
But then again, I didn't know to close the dome, or to control the temp -- I thought it was just a ceramic... erm... grill...
Took me a while to catch up to you!

boxerpapa, yeadh I was surprised. I didn't believe all the hype about how moist stuff comes out but this was the most moist chicken I have ever cooked and I have bbq'd lots of chicken in my time.
Didn't use the cast iron grid but it is coming probably after I learn to manipulate the airflow better. Once again thanks! -

Eggcellant color to the yard bird for your first or any time!! Did you use a thermometer and if so what temp you pull?
-
Good lookin birds A.G.!

Very Nice - How is the TeePee coming?
-
JLockhart, pulled at about 165-175 breast temp, but the thigh/leg quarter was reading at 195-205, used a thermopen. One of the many accessories that I have acquired before my first cook.
Frank, Teepee is coming along fine. Contractor says it should be done by Friday, although it is supposed to rain today and Monday. Will hopefully have finished pics to post next weekend. -
Good-looking yard birds, AG. A very good start.
