Baked Potato Temp?

Does anyone cook these to a desired internal temp or is it always the traditional oven temp until it's soft? Just wondering.

CNL..I have some on right now with my ribs that are foiled and in their final hour...if I'm in a hurry I actually par cook them in the nuke machine for a couple of minutes then stick em on the egg..since I'm at about 275 dome..I par cooked them for 2 1/2 mins and put them on about 1 to 1 1/2 hrs before the ribs are to be done...I've done baked taters at about every temp I cook at and just adjust the time based on the temp and cookem till they get soft..I think I'll check the internal this time though just so I know...good question.

It depend on what else I'm eggin.Sometimes I use my other egg just for taters and veggies.Sometimes I just throw the taters in the same egg an hour or so before the meat is done.Worst case,if the taters aren't ready,I toss them in the micro.

I might try this tomorrow evening with some of the extra ribs from today. Do you foil your bakers or just put them on the grill skin out? If I'm only doing the baked potatoes from scratch, what temp do y'all suggest and for how long? Thanks a head of time.

I've done em in foil and out..I like em in cuzz I rub em in EVOO...salt, pepper and fav rub...time depends on what temp you're at on the egg..I was at 275 today and had the tater on bout hour and a half..came out great..no need for butter on em when their done and i eat em skin and all...btw I checked..mine was right at 200 internal when i took it off to eat...

Sweet taters skin on in foil are great also. Cook until soft to the touch. About 1 hour at 350.

Sounds good. I'll drag this 'puter inside now out of the dark and ask my wife what she wants with her recycled ribs tomorrow. Sweets or regular baked. I like the idea of sweets but I do like both.

Regular baked taters should take about an hour at 300.You can cook them without foil if you want.I usually foil them so they don't come out to smokey

I recently did a google search and 210 was the suggested internal temperature.

Thanks. I cooked 2 last night for a few minutes over an hour @ 400 and they were not quite there. I had the egg going indirect so I left it that way but I can't see why that would matter for taters.
