I've also seen them at Wally World along with supplies. We have one of the older ones we've had for several years and worth the money for the unit. We have never used the vacuum jar portion however.

ive only used mine for pulled pork and its worth every penny for that, i always double up from what i need when cooking pork butt and then package it in sizes i can use later. no more work to cook 2 butts than 1, its the same cookfukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

There are four things you AREN'T going to get away from me, my guns, my Egg, my food saver and my wife.
In that order. (She never comes on the forum so I can be brave without her knowing) ;>)

Get a good one. You won't regret it. The next good weather we have, I am going to do a massive load of pulled pork. Vacuum and freeze it for my son's house at Purdue, the next time we visit. I wouldn't trust doing that with plain ole freezer bags. You can just reheat the stuff in the bag in hot water and it still taste great.
(Yes I'm a weiny and I know you can Q in snow and ice....but I just don't like to) -
This is Where I get my vacuum bags and rolls from. I have not had any trouble yet and they are cheaper.

bought mine years ago when the second son left for school so i could still buy at bulk. no freezer burn. i also by sausage from a german sausage maker and they freeze great. i use the bags. and i use the mason jar sealer a lot. especially for seeds and nuts as they go rancid. sesame seeds, alomonds, pistachios all in jars in freezer . left over sapgetti goes right back in the sauce jar vascuumed and into fridge. saves on bags and those hideous plastic containers. i keep my expensive parmesian cheese always vacuumed packed as well. hope you are sold.

and wish i could spell and i use the rolls not the bags

Here's a link where I buy bags and rolls. If my dept. store sealer ever gives out, I'll probably buy one of his. The rolls come in a box and are easy to store. Using the roll, you can make whatever size you need, but it is another step that adds to the time.
If you have never used a sealer, the video clips on his site are informative.
The cannisters are good for quick marinading.

I buy both bags and rolls. I like the 11 inch rolls as I do alot of bake and freeze meals to stock up the freezer. I make 6-8 chicken pot pies at a time in 10 in pie pans freeze, pop out of the pan and seal and freeze till I don't feel like eggin some night. and bags of pulled pork are like bits of gold in the freezer. especially for pizza! my sealer is right on the counter. I use it all the time. chip bags, resealing frozen vegis, brown sugar or rice, just about any plastic bag i don't use the contents up of. extra bags and rolls are right in the deep drawer under it.
