...Knead Bread???

I let my bread machine do the kneading work on its "Dough" cycle with a basic white bread recipe. After the dough cycle was finished, I popped out a ball of dough on to the BGE baking stone, brushed it with whole milk, and attached some grated cheddar cheese. Here it is before the final rise:

I let it rise for about 1.5 hours, until it was 2x the original size, then popped it in the Egg and baked it for 10 mins at 450*, then another 30 mins or so at 375* until the internal temp was 195*. Here it is on the rack:

And sliced:

My son says it's the best bread I've made on the Egg so far, but personally I like the No Knead a little better.

My wife placed an order for pulled pork, so while the bread was rising it was off to the local H-Mart for a super-fresh picnic shoulder:

This will go on later tonight before bed.

Finally, we made some shrimp for dinner. This gave me the chance to try the Alder Wood Smoked Jalepeno Pepper powder that my son sent me for Christmas. It's homemade in Port Townsend, Washington by his girlfriend's father . We also did some Yoshida shrimp - my wife's favorite!

I did - now that you mention it, I might have been tempting a cracked stone...but it did work out OK. Next time I could go for the last rise on a pizza peel, then sliiiide it carefully on to a preheated stone.
