Cracked Ceramic Cap
My ceramic cap is cracked and I would like to know if there is a special glue that I can purchase to fix the cap before it falls apart?

Not knowing the full details of your situation it's hard to suggest one glue over another. If it were me I would try either "Gorrila Glue" or JB Weld.

I used gorilla glue to fix a leg on one of my platesetters and worked fine.
Guess it will work for the top. Also used J B weld on the daisey wheel.
(notice a pattern here :unsure: ) hope it helps

Only one Glue to use JB Weld.. Or spring for the cost of a new hat..

Have used gorilla glue for a couple of plate setters & one pizza stone & has lasted for a couple of years to date. What are the reasons for not using it?? Also have used J.B. Weld for Daisey wheel with equal success.

Gorilla glue is Polyurethane. nuff' said. However, since I know a debate will follow please read the MSDS posted on Gorilla Glue's Web site on the very product you are using in your Egg.

Pay close attention to what it says under "Special Hazards in Fire" section. The cure fo isocynate stuff produced is Amyl-nitrate
However. JB weld is designed for ceramic repair and the potential for high heat. -
Your probably right. Guess everything causes cancer but cigarettes. MSDS for J.B. weld isa little but not much better. Guess the bottom line is if you break it replace it, dont fix it.

The key difference is once JB Weld hardens it's virtually impervious to heat and it doesn't produce ISOCYANIDE

You might want to check with your dealer. I accidently dropped mine and went to him for a replacement. He mentioned to me that he had quite few laying around, seems like some people who bought the DFMT didn't want the ceramic. So he gave me one.

i got one that way myself... but my ceramic top got broken about the third week i had it and i replaced it this past fall
