Steak Sandwich

I had the day off so I thought I would try to make steak sandwiches for lunch. They turned out really good.

I pounded these NY strips with a pan to make them flatter. I wanted them thinner so I could sear on both sides and then pull off the egg. I found that doing this makes them a little more tender.

Peppers and onions in cast iron skillet with olive oil and salt & pepper.

Put them on some toasted sourdough bread with provolone cheese. I cut steak as thin as I could. I wrapped the sandwich in foil and put back on the warm grill to help melt cheese & flavors together. 4 steaks will make about 8 sandwiches.

Looks fantastic, I can almost smell it...
There was a recent post about sandwiches’ on the old forum. I have been searching for it for the last few days but no luck.
The post had referenced Philly, and other sandwich’s which also looked like something I would like to try.
If anyone referenced that post I sure would like a link or approximate date so I could search further.

Tempting sandwich.I bet ya a rib eye done the same way would be great.

Wow!!
Can I come over?
This really sounds like a great idea, and I really like the step at the end where you wrap in foil and put back on the EGG.
I will have to try that sometime.

Thanks. Just make sure you pull the steaks with some pink in the middle because they will cook a little more when you put them back on the grill in the foil. They only need to be in the grill for a minute or two but they still cook a little. I think the key to the sandwich is to have a sharp knife and cut the meat as thin as possible. Ribeye works great for this too.
