Fatties on the Smallie
Beanie-Bean

Really nice Jimmy Dean fatties on the new Small BGE. JH Pecan on one, and Sticky Fingers on the other. I was really surprised to see how long it took for the sausages to get to 170 internal. Since I didn't have a plate setter, I put a 9" aluminum cake pan (bought expressly for the purpose of serving as the official drip pan for Smallie) on the grid, and one of those $0.94 grate toppers from Wally World on top of that.
I'd say that the temp stabilized around 17:30 Austin-time, and I pulled the fatties at 23:00. Cooked with a fresh load of Ozark Oak and two pieces of hickory stuck in there.
Dome 250--incredibly stable on the small, using just a crack on the lower vent, and half-petal on top. Since I have a faulty metal top, I'll have to get it replaced this week.
Special thanks to Egret for confirming there are supposed to be 5/5 holes on the metal top. The bottom layer of mine only has 4.
Good night, folks!
