so i had some left over chicken from last night along with some leftover sweet potato, sweet onion, and sweet red pepper and a little brie cheese and i've been wanting to play with the box of puff pastry in the freezer... here is what happened!
[p][p][p][p][p][p][p]this is WAY more fun than it should be!

Beautiful, just beautiful. You got a karma bump for that one, not to mention your serial-killer setup motif
-
Rick, I don't know whether to be frightened by your BBQ Circus Village Museum or beg to come visit.
Nice puff.
TRex -
Dude - your creativity kills me.
Awesome...simply awesome. -
RTD,
Those looked great puff pastry works as a graet disguise for leftovers in our house. We do the same thing with leftover pulled pork..... Take some PP, carmamelized onion, and shredded sharp cheddar. Perfect football watching food -
You might be onto something with that. Depending on the stuffing, you can get a nice dipping sauce to dip those in or pour over them.

Nice!
Years ago, when I lived down in the islands, I used to do something similar but with lobster and mushrooms instead of the chicken. (lobster was free)
(I'm afraid to ask what is over on the left-side of the 'psycho-circus' tent just out of view of the camera) :ermm: -
Rick's Tropical Delight,
that looks so yummy! what is the wire screen underneath the food?
-
Hey Rick,
I bet you have a grass skirt and parrot hat like mine. I got a new book, "License to Chill" for Christmas but haven't had time to read it yet.
The food looks great. Making me hungry. -
I dunno, but we ought to check to see if any hitchhikers have come up missing 'round RTD's place lately. He might have taken "Sweeney Todd" a little too seriously :P
-
What do you think the "surprise" is in the chicken puffs?
-
Any bets on how long it takes for The Whiz to get a "teen runaway" heading on his Recipes site?
-
wouldn't YOU like to know!
hahahahaha!
-
cactus griller,
hey, thanks...[p]that's an aluminum grill topper but i won't use it again for puff pastry cause it kinda stuck a bit, but not too bad. i was going to use parchment paper, but i cut it too small and the grill topper was sitting there on the table so i grabbed it...

who does what?
hey! you stole my mario quote! thief! thief! my precious! -
who does what?
It's a reference to "Silence of the Lambs." -
Hey that's not a surprise!!
But dang it looks good. We make a Vietnamese version of those at home....ground pork, garlic and chinese mushrooms. They are always good. You have inspired me to get "puffing" again! Those puff pastry sheets are great, and you just illustrated that the sky is the limit with what you can put in 'em. Gorgeous man. The beers look good too.
Chris -
ah! i love that movie!
"IT PUTS THE LOTION ON!"
soooooo... who wants to come out here in the country to visit me, eh? -
thanks, mon! it surpirsed me cause that's the first time i've used those pastry sheets. they weren't kidding when they named them 'puff' :P
-
Hey Rick
They also have these puff pastry shells (same company....yours were pepperidge farm right?). Anyways, they are round, and you remove this "plug" kinda thing, and shove your food down in, and put the plug back on top and bake. Tastes the same....real fatty and buttery taste that coats your entire mouth in grease before you even get to the food inside....but dang! hehe.
Beers mon-mang
Later
Chris -
If you've been shopping for fava beans and a nice chianti, count this fat boy out!
-
Man you have fun! Nice shots, as always. -RP

Rick's Tropical Delight,
There you go playing with your food again. HAAAAA Big question is, how did they taste? I almost ate my screen looking at them.[p]Mike
-
Mike in Abita,
taste? i didn't eat them silly! it was just for the photos! hahaa.[p]no seriously, they were really pretty good but, it was a bit much pastry and not enough chicken. that tropical pepper company hot & sweet sauce really fit nicely though
-
yes sir, from the pepper farm. i'll have to look for the 'plug' kind next time.
and that description of the tongue feel just doesn't sound good! hahaaa -
i think i saw you post that awhile back... that's where i got the idea
-
AHHHH!!! So awesome i just happen to have frozen puff in the freezer. Wed. will be the day to play with the egg. My son-in-law will be at work so he will not jick-jack with the wheel or damper. However i don't think i can top your creation. You are a super egger. miles out.

Okay....let's go with "warm coating feeling on your tongue".
Better?
Cheers
Chris
