Has anyone made Daddy Pat’s Mellow Mushroom Bacon Bites from the Eggtoberfest 2006 cookbook? The recipe says to "place wrapped bacon on BGE @ 325- 350 degrees for approximately 15 – 20 minutes or until bacon is crisp and mushrooms are tender." I am wondering if this is direct or indirect.

I'm thinking it would have to be indirect. Think about the grease that would end up in the fire causing it to burn off and make your food taste bad. I would add a drip pan, too. HTH.

Thanks, Big'un. That what I ended up doing. Inverted plate setter with a 14" pizza pan for the drip pan. I used Hormel brand maple bacon since it was BOGO at the local grocery store. The bacon wrapped mushrooms cooked for about 30 minutes at a dome temp of 350. Once the bacon was nice and brown I brushed them with some Spicewine Ironworks Sweet Heat sauce. We took them to my brother-in-law's place and everyone loved them.
