Need Help with Goetta Recipe
RustyEgg
Posts: 14
I have a recipe for Goetta that didn't turn out on the first try; it was to runny almost like soup. It should have been thick, so that when it cools it is solid. The recipe called for "Steel Cut" Oats but I couldn't find any so I used Quaker Oats. Does anyone know the difference and would this have caused my problem? I want to try another batch with "Steel Cut" Oats and am wondering if I need to make other adjustments as well.[p]Many Thanks,
RustyEgg

Kings soopers/Kroger has them or any Health food store. They are much different then what you used. They take 30 minutes or so to cook. The brand is John McCann's, steel cut Irish oatmeal. Good stuff.
