New forum switch clarification

Hi Everyone,[p]It appears that the new database based forum is a bit too much for our current server's capabilities. When everyone hits it at once, it is bringing the server to it's knees.[p]I suspect also that some are getting impatient and canceling pages and refreshing them -- this must makes things even worse. That's why we've seen so many duplicate posts the last couple of days probably.[p]Please don't do excessive refreshes when the response is slow. We are looking into what we can do about upgrading the server, but that will take some time; so, for now, we'll have to stick with the old format until we can addresses the speed issues. They are a combinations of old hardware, old software, and some poorly written queries I suspect.[p]We needed to find all of this out, but it will take us a bit of time to resolve.[p]Thanks to everyone for helping us test, and for your patience,

WMK,[p]Possible some of us forum members might willing to donate some equipment or something to help out if needed.[p]I dont' have much server side experience. If the board is hosting its own own server, upgrading CPU/memory/HD should be able to be accomplished with some of us here on the fourm if needed.[p]Bandwidth I think would be a different ball game.[p]just my 2¢[p]Kent

Basically what you are saying for us non-web speak types is. This forum is on temporary hold. Everybody take the party next door?!?!
