roast beef for the newbie
This is a basic question, but can't find the answer on previous Forum posts or web sites.[p]I want to make a roast beef on my new BGE. Usually I brown it on the stove and then put it in the oven at 325 for 20 min or so. [p]Any advice how to do this on the Egg? (temp on egg and time suggested. ?right on the grill grates?)[p]this is pretty basic to those who know the Egg so well , but I need to start somewhere!!
thanks,[p]Kaila

Kaila,[p]You would cook it just like you would in an oven..[p]I would go indirect..plate setter legs up..[p]A drip pan on that and then my grate..[p]You can brown it on the stove then put it in the egg at 325 till done!..[p]

icemncmth,
That's how we do it; I'd add we put on a rub (DP Red Eye but you can use any savory herb rub with garlic) and we did it to 145 internal temperature for medium rare hedging to medium. Let it sit for 15 min after roasting.
