I need to buy some gloves to make getting the platesetter out of the egg easier...what kind do you all like? Do you like the neoprene gloves by BGE or another brand? Thank you!

Kim, they're ok but leather welding gloves are very useful for handling hot platesetters, pizza stones and even glowing lump. However, I find them too stiff to handle hot dishes so I reserve my neoprene gloves for handling those.

Kim, I have used a pair of woven, oven mitts for years and I really like them. I purchased them in a cooking or restaurant supply place, they're well insulated and reach to my elbows. The long length put an end to burning my forearms when reaching into a hot oven. I'm not Eggin' yet, but from what I've read, welders gloves or the kind used when stoking a fireplace might be the way to go. I think I might wear my old Nomex flight suit for the first hi-temperature cooks!

Personally 500° Orka mitts are the only way to go. They protect and can be thrown in the dishwasher - try that with leather gloves when they get yucky!

RRP, I second the Orka mitts. I have used them since they came out. U can't beat them.[p]David

Kim,[p]I'd go to Northern Tool and buy some welders gloves. You can also find them at Lowes or Home Depot.
