picked up a flank steak for a quick cook dinner tonight ....did a marinade of olive oil, balsamic vinager, herbs de provence, and for a twist a nice shot of jack daniels. .. . then i threw some jack daniels chips in the fire, grilled the steak direct at 500 degrees dome temp for about 4-5 minutes per side ....the JD added a real nice taste to the marinade and meat. .. . served up with a baked spud and salad . . .. quick, easy good. ..yummy[p]mad "quick is good too" max

    mad max beyond eggdome,
    Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaax whaddap man?
Just like you I dont drink that stuff, but unlike you i dont carry it in my kitchen but I will after your post.
Im in a serious experimental phase in cooking recently. I recall sporadic posts regarding crispy wings and whether they're worth doing on the egg. Tonight was my second attempt in doing them and may I say...YES GO FOR IT!!
Not as crispy as KFC obviously, but certainly an awesome alternative from the grill. Soon I'll do a step by step with what I do with these wings as tonight was throwing everything tegether while throwing down a few brews.
But or now the plan is getting s bottle of JD tomorrow when geting brews for Sunday's JETS loss.
Have you ever tried marinating with just strait JD?

  • Smokin' Todd,[p]i have a bar full of booze, and all i use it for is cooking. .LOL ...[p]i've done that basic olive oil/balsamic marinade with different liquors, all with good results. ..try JD, or vodka, or tequila. .. each gives a slightly different flavor. . .all good . [p]can't say i've tried a straight booze marinade though, but what the heck, why not?!?[p]2 weeks my friend, 2 weeks!Q!!

    mad max beyond eggdome,
Straight booze marinade would probably dehydrate the heck out of any meat. If anyone does it, let's hear the results.
