The Old One,[p]Here is one that is great and easy.

The Old One,
I just put a spatchcock one on using the Whiz method. It's good. If you want to cook an entire chicken, roasted style, go up to the recipe section and pick out a beer can chicken recipe. If you haven't done it before, it's quite simple and comes out great.
Not to mention that a chicken with a beer can up his ass is a conversation starter.
Good luck.

Richard,
What is used to raise the grid up? It almost looks like he uses 2x4s.

The Old One,
i am un able to post pics but that will change soon. i can e-mail you pics of first chicken i did on my lge. diposable aluminum 1/2 steam tray [30 for $9? costco.] with wire grid laid across the top. perdue oven stuffer roaster with pop up thingy. set on grill at 350 turned 180 degrees once. dusted with common poltry seasoning. was great for a first try and 2 years later i still use same method for weeknite cooks. plain chicken, cooked right, on an egg is just plain good.

branson,
My guess is fire brick- same thing used to line the interior of a fireplace, available at masonry supply yards.

Al B,
I think that you are right, it does look like fire brick. Why didn't I think of that?
