Rutland vs Imperial gasket

Afternoon All,
Our local Lowes stocks Imperial brand 5/8" gasket. Does anyone know if this is comparable to Rutland? It's pretty thick rope compared to the felt gasket that came with the egg and with no other frame of reference I decided to wait and ask those wiser in the ways of 700 degree extreme burger cooking.

    I'm not familiar with that brand like I am Rutland products but I can tell you this...you do not want the rope gasket no matter who makes it! It will not embed properly in the adhesive and it will fail as it moves on you in use. Email me if you wish to fear about another alternative - a peel and stick Rutland braided gasket.
