Pizza , Calzones, & Strombole’s

<p />It seems like some people are a little confused about Calzones & Stromboli’s. As for Calzones where I come from are made with ricotta, mozzarella, & ham. Also you can add other types of meat, like sausage & pepperoni. I like also adding peppers in mine and a little parmesan cheese. But the total sin is people adding sauce. There is absolutely no SAUCE in Calzones. It’s easier to make with out sauce and it comes out so much better. Sauce on the side for dipping if you like for Calzones. Pizza and Stromboli’s are made with sauce. Stomboli’s are made with sauce, onion’s, mushrooms, sausage, pepperoni, peppers, mozzarella, parmesan no ricotta. Also Stromobli’s are open on top, not covered with dough like Calzones. This is just my opinion we all have our own opinion’s. But you’re the cook so you do what you like and enjoy. Almost for got the most important ingredient I left out FRESH GARLIC on all three. [p]

You also nailed the cook of the calzones and the pizza!![p]If only I can live long enough to cook like that on my BGE... talk about wish lists...[p](Do you change the recipe for pizza dough to make the calzones?)

For those rare places that sell calzones where I currently live I always have to demand no sauce.
Stromboli is simply a wrapped pizza.
