Blueberry pie
This is my lazy pie! LOL 1 box of Pillsbury pie crust. 2 qt of fresh berries, 1/4 cup of instant tapioca, 3/4 cup sugar 4 small pats of butter. place bottom crust in deep dish 10 pie pan, pour in the berries, sprinkle with tapioca, then sugar then a little cinnamon and then 4 pats of butter. put on top crust and seal. brush the top crust with a little milk and dust with sugar. place in a hot egg, 350 that is not smoking. I put them on after dinner has cooked and we have run hot it for a minute to do away with any drippings that might smoke. Bring the temp back down to 350 and put in the pie, about 45 minutes later it is hot, bubbly and golden brown. Vanilla ice cream and cold milk and it does not get much better than that! Julie[p][p]

Can you sub in other berries without changing the other ingredients?[p]Gwen

dimplesmom, You can use anything, just adjust the Tapioca up a little if they are very juicy and the sugar if they are more tart. Enjoy. Julie

dhuffjr, ? please. So there isn't any need to worry about water melting around the egg and settling in the bottom of it when the snow melts? I have mine in it's nest and keep it covered but I have heard rain and such does not cause any problems. Obviously, this is factual. Thank you.

ann-sugar magnolia,
Naahhh you an see the ring around the Egg where the melting was occuring. I've never noticed a problem with water in the bottom......well except the time I let the fire go on to burn out to "clean" the Egg and forgot to go out and close the top. It rained that night....and then froze, maybe a 1/4 inch of ice in the bottom. I just fired up the Egg and it melted and steamed away.

dhuffjr,
Your picture of the egg in the snow looks refreshing and gave me an idea. It's going to be 91 in the Fox Cities today, so I put a picture of ClayQ egging in the snow for my screensaver. Juliem4444's blueberry pie tonight!

Juliem4444,
I went to our local farmers market & bought 20 lbs of blueberries. I'm going to try your recipe using tapioca, on the egg tonight. Never used tapioca only flour, great idea, THANKS!
