Recipe for Philly Steak Sandwishes
Anyone have a great Philly steak sandwich?[p]Instead of pan-frying paper thin ribeye, a-la-Flay?[p]===[p]I'm thinking of TRexing NYStrips to med-rare, resting, then cutting thin on the bias, across grain, and piling this onto a hoagie bun... with provolone, etc.[p]Other suggestions?[p]I'm doing this for 25-30 people on a medium.[p]Thanks --[p]~ Broc

Broc -- near Omaha,[p]I used cubed steak. Marinate in worchestershire, melted butter, and a few dashes of hot sauce. Slice it very thin into strips, dust it with salt and pepper, then toss in into a pre-heated cast iron pan at 550-600. The strips cook real quick.[p]I cook the peppers and onions in the same cast iron pan after the meat in done. Then combine on hoagie roll with a slice or two of provolone.

Broc -- near Omaha,
something similar that i used to get up here was chunk steak sandwiches. cut the ribeye into 1/2 inch cubes and fry, onions peppers mushrooms american cheese all melted together, provolone on top added at assembly kind of holds it all togeter. one thing with a steak and cheese is that the roll is as important as the steak.
fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it
