Cart for Egg

We'd like to build a cart for our large egg. Anyone have plans? I've seen them before but cannot find again. Thanks!

Nancy,[p]I am in the process of building on myself. There is a basic plan with measurments for a cart on Nakeds' fine website. I am trying to build mine with stuff I have hanging around the house. I am no carpenter so it has been a real learning experience for me.[p]Good luck with the project.

Nancy,
I just bought my LEgg last Saturday; picked up the Cypress cart for it while I was at it. Was $350... but already made and out of Cypress... didn't feel like going to the trouble, time and expense of doing it myself. The one duckegg is building sure looks fine... not a carpenter? Coulda fooled me!

Nancy,

If you visit my web site you can find photos of dozens of tables that people have built. Of course, there are the web pages I have that show how I built a table. As far as a plan is concerned, if you visit my Ceramic FAQ, I have links to several table plans: Good luck!

Tony,[p]Can you (or anyone with the "official" pre-built cart) post pics of it? I'd build my own but have far too many home improvementp rojects going on at the moment. $350 (shipped or local?) is a bit high and I know I could build a cart cheaper. Maybe I'll get my dad to do it. His new hobby is wood working. ;P

The Naked Whiz,
looking at the pix of the cart, on the top, is that a ceramic tile square? How big is it? Is it recessed into the wood or is it resting on the top?

ThinkandDrive,[p]We picked up one for $300 the other day locally. [p]

[p]To be honest the thing has kind of a rickety feel to it. It should support the egg's weight vertically, but it wobbles a tiny bit lengthwise. I was surprised to see the thin legs. I'm not sure how best to firm it up. Hopefully the presence of the egg itself will keep it from flexing.[p]We plan to put the casters on. You can get the official table with casters on it, but the sales guy said he thought double-wheel casters were best so we went that route. The casters do raise the table to a more comfortable height, akin to a standard kitchen counter. [p]He said the wood does not need to be treated but he recommended it anyway since the table will accumulate food/grease stains much more quickly if left untreated. I'm planning to pick up some Sherwin-Williams DeckSeal (or whatever it's called).[p]The hardware in the table is all zinc-plated so it may not last here at the beach... it may need to be replaced with stainless later.[p]We would have preferred to have a sturdier setup like some of the examples on NakedWhiz, but we aren't carpenters and would have had to arrange a contractor to build something. This was cheap (enough) and readily available, so there it is.
