i was surprised to find out that there are so many eggers in ohio especially since you can't find brisket anywhere unless it's corned beef.[p]so any way, there were some posts a few weeks back about doing an eggfest/eggstock somewhere near dayton on a farm. [p]is that something that's still on the fire? if so i'd be willing to help. [p]thanks

markkal123,
that's my farm and dhuffjr and i were talking about it on here. that's about as far as we got, hahaa. it might not happen this year... we might have a small thing though, we'll see what hatches. we might end up doing something in october, the weekend before or after eggtoberfest.[p]hey, my friend from medina went up and got one of the mediums near cleveland that you referred to. he's building a custom table for it now. i can't believe he hasn't even put it together yet! rookie! hahaha

Mark - so you have the same brisket/ corned beef problem as me!! I ask the "butcher" at the store if they have briskets. Yes, they have briskets.... they walk over to the corned beef........aaarrrgh....

Rick's Tropical Delight,
glad someone from the forum could take advantage of that deal. maybe you need to head to medina, give him a hand, and you get a nice steak and some good kentucky bourbon in return. or maybe i should head to medina for a good steak and bourbon hehehe.[p]thanks for the update on the eggstock deal. haven't met another egger locally yet. i am sure they are here. nevertheless, an ohio fest would someday be a good thing.

I'm interested in attending an egg event if held in SW Ohio.

AlaskanC,
saving grace for you - theeeeee BEST salmon ever. the local places here just got in some of the copper river. i am picking up my order tomorrow. [p]i used to live in oregon. had some excellent king, steelhead and sturgeon from the columbia. but of course, nothing like you get up north.
-
markkal123,[p]I'm in Columbus, and while I'm a total noob here (we got our Egg less than a month ago), I'd certainly be interested in an Ohio Eggfest.
-
markkal123,[p]I have a friend moving from NJ to Ohio and he is getting a new Egg to take with him tomorrow. An Eggfest would be a great excuse to visit. Let us know.[p]Chuck

markkal123,
Yeah, I'd come to Eggstock! Do you live near Dayton? Dorothy Lane Market has (uncorned) beef brisket. I've done a couple of them in the oven (pre-BGE) the past few years and they were delicious!

markkal123,
i'm in columbus, and with the price of gas right now that sure puts a BIG damper on the travel plans. But that sounds like a good idea let us know if and when this is going to happen.also try looking at KROGER they have non- cornedbeef briskets all the time.[p]stinkie

oh please don't get me started on the copper river stuff.[p]It is wild Alaska salmon so I am happy for that, but....[p]
oh nevermind - I am happy that you are buying non-farmed fish!!
-
markkal123,
It sure would be fun if we can make something happen.

dhuffjr,
hey, do you know if the mothership helps out the dealer in any eggfests? maybe they could convince mcmahan's to play with us. i think we really need to have a dealer in on this.[p]maybe there are some other dealers in ohio that would be willing.

markkal123,
I'm in columbus and I would be there. Lets get somthing going in the buckeye state
-
markkal123,[p]I'm in Dayton (as my name makes clear) and would be up for it.[p]And if there is a Wal-Mart by you, check it out for the brisket. The one by me generally has packers at a really good price. The one at Dorothy Lane Market (a local Dayton thing) is better quality, but you really pay for it.

DaytonEgger,
thanks will chekc that out.

Any more thoughts to having one in Ohio? I'm in Columbus (Powell) and would participate/help.
