I would like to have one of these for my Large Egg but the 17" diameter, plus the handles probably wouldn't fit inside the Egg. A 14 or 15" would be perfect. Anyone know of another manufacturer where one might be available?[p]17LodgeSkillet.jpg[p]Spring "Always Searching For A New Thingie" Chicken

Spring Chicken,[p]The cast iron stuff is nice! [p]I picked up two small cast iron pans Saturday at a grarage sale for $5 each! One is 6 inch (I plan on using it for peppers & onion on my next Italian Sausage cook). The other is also 6 inches, but is divided into 6 section (I plan to use for corn bread). Both need a good cleaning and reseasoning![p]Garage sales rule (if you don't mind sorting through alot of junk)!![p]Smokey

Spring Chicken,[p] There have been a few people that have cut the handles off the 12" skillet. If you have the ability to cut the cast iron maybe going that route will be good.[p] The 12" fits in my XL with the handles so I never did that. The 17" skillet will fit in my XL too..[p]Celtic "Resisting buying a 17 inch skillet" Wolf
  • Spring Chicken,
Lodge has a 15 inch cast iron pizza pan. It fits perfectly in the large and is great for lots of stuff. But if you gotta have sides, this isn't it![p]Paul

    <p />Spring Chicken,
lecruest makes one but its pricey and i wouldnt sear with it in the egg. if you find a cast iron, try for the 14 inch size, the amount of fire needed to get high dome temps is pretty intense with larger sizes. with my 15.5 inch soapstone, to get 550 dome looks like a 1000 degree fire underneath. if you do want to go the lecruest route i can get the dimensions tonight, but if searing, my 12 inch fry pan works well enough, even my warped steel paella pan does the trick

Spring Chicken,[p]For $12 at Meijer's I bought a 14" cast iron skillet that has a removable handle - fits nicely in the large BGE.
