two 5 packs of drums from organic cakewalking casserole eating chickens

cgs spider with a pizza stone at 400-425

racked and heavy duty foil on the grid

any strength of foil is only a 50% power shield when @Canugghead and i play Dungeons and Dragons so let’s call it “indirect and half again” for those rolling dice and keeping score.

6 with kosher salt and pepper. four with blues hog rub.

they hit 175 in 45 minutes. listened to jason isbell song and finished my 16oz sweetwater ipa because i wanted to.  then brushed some blues hog sauce on four. then levon helm’s cover of tennessee jed came on and that is not to be interrupted. lots to drink and think about these days.

so eventually they read 197 off the grill. tossed three in frank’s buffalo sauce in a bowl. @fishlessman it was close enough to heating up frank’s hot sauce and melting butter without washing another pan. maybe if i tossed in the pan but we hand wash our pans and dishwasher the bowls. efficiency expert hiding in plain sight.

crisp skin and the drums were juicy enough that we all had to close our eyes for safety when anyone took a bite. kidding but if it was a grilling themed 3d movie we just figured out one hot take.

happy grilling

Bonus points well beyond the great sticks which you nailed. Film writer narrative right there. Great documentation and even better stand-alone for how to get it done.
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

Nice cook and an enjoyable and appetizing report. I really like that rack, but I'm reaching peak storage capacity in my kitchen and need to hold myself back from buying new stuff.

  • the legs on some rack models are folding but i totally hear you on not overdoing it on stuff.

the bar in the middle with little indentation is worth having. it is very nice for securing whole wings. the flipper catches under it. so each drumstick slot then holds a whole wing (drum / flat / flipper) so it’s 24 wings on a rack.

one time i found one for a gift that was folding and also had a stainless steel tray under it.  can put cut potatoe wedges on the tray. have not looked lately.
