    Or the Camaro if I were perhaps in town visiting, would also come back full of fuel and probably a rockwood bag in the trunk.

    One of the early lessons my Dad taught me was that if you borrow something you return it in better condition than you received it. (When applicable) A friend of my Mom's owns a lawn scaping business and he loves to borrow equipment to my parents as he knows something will come back greased or sharpened on it. 

    When I borrow something I try to do the same. Filling a gas tank should be the absolute minimum.

    Also don't think an LT tire will last longer or take higher loads on a trailer. I tried and the tread blew right off.
    Stick to the ST's. They are specifically designed to take the twisting motion (among a number of other things) on the treads which happens on a trailer, especially a dual axle

    Tire lifespan can be helped by minimizing sun exposure and high speed blasts in 100f weather where pavement temps can easily exceed 130f.....
    Filling with Nitrogen or perhaps Argon will also help.   
    I treat such time limit warnings as ADVISORY, not a brick wall.   Inspection for sidewall cracks and and uniform treadware are more important than just a time limit....

    dumb question I suppose but I’ll ask it anyway…if no cracks are found on the exterior side walls is it necessary to try to check the interior side? the latter would be difficult for say old farts!

    I would say the inside "should" be fine if there is nothing on the outside sidewalls.  I just replaced trailer tires yesterday.  There were many cracks in between the treads as well.  This particular trailer was only used on property and never on the road.  Always pulled by a tractor.  In that situation I won't replace until the tire simply will no longer hold air.  Well, it needs to be on the road for a few days, forcing the replacement.  I just buy tires already mounted to wheels instead of having new tires mounted to the old rims. It is about the same price.
