I’ll be in Brooksville, FL for a week starting August 3rd. Any restaurant recommendations?

Both of my suggestions have been covered above...It's been a while since I've been to Bern's, if this is you first time, which sounds like it is, make sure you take kitchen and wine cellar tour after dinner,
before going to the desert room. Columbia lunch or dinner is going to be good there, make sure you get the 1905 Salad. I should add Harry's BBQ if you're looking for quick afternoon lunch. If you leave Brooksville and come down 41 it will be on your left hand side. (About 25 miles) https://hungryharrysbbq.com/

Enjoy your time in the area.

Just go to the Columbia on repeat. Also save room in your suitcase to take home stuff from their shop.

After checking out the websites, all above suggestions look very promising.

  • I absolutely agree with Columbia, and Bern's.

There is also a Columbia restaurant inside Tampa Bay History Museum in downtown Tampa. I went there recently and the 1905 salad served was identical to the original Ybor location.

If you can't get a reservation at Bern's (as they are booked up for months in advance), they do have bar seating without a reservation.

Ted Peter's near St. Pete Beach is awesome. My family has been going there for decades, and we always serve their smoked mullet spread at holidays and even family weddings. It's awesome.

Also, if you like Greek food, check out Tarpon Springs. Hella's is great for Saganaki. Pro tip - free parking at the end of Dodecanese Blvd., they charge to park at the front entrance to Tarpon Springs.

@Florida Grilling Girl - my Berns experience happened years ago and only because of a conversation I had with the concierge while staying at the Marriott Hotel. Turned out the hotel had standing reservations with Berns so the concierge called and made the reservation for the two of us.

Was a bit surprised when we got to the restaurant because there was no parking, just a podium and a couple uniformed attendants who took our names and the car keys in exchange for a numbered token, with a warning not to lose the token.

Won’t bore folks here with a decades old review, will just say it was a wonderful, unhurried meal and we took full advantage of our once in a lifetime experience.

  • So glad to hear that you enjoyed the Columbia, I hope you went into their shop next door as they have great cooking stuff that foodies like us enjoy.

Was a cool shop with lots of cool things. I didn’t buy anything as I was flying home with an already full suitcase.

Hungry Harry’s for lunch. Had their smokehouse sandwich. Brisket, pulled pork, ham, & bacon. And the black eyed peas were amazing.

Good to hear things went well... Your photos reminded me I need to stop by Harry's, I only live about 5 miles from there...I should get my priorities in order. :s

I'm sure you had a sweet tea to round out the dinning experience.  =)

    Have a great day...
