Finally upgraded to the Rutland gasket

Bought one from @RRP about 10yrs ago but the original BGE gasket - while really knackered - only fell apart a couple of weeks ago.

Was easy to put on - old gasket flaked away easily. Gave the rim a scrape down with a razor meant for cleaning ceramic hobs and glued this one on. How’d I do?

Surfaced in fine style right there.  Given @RRP is a frictionless conduit with his gasketing service he will likely be impressed that you maintained accurate inventory control for 10 years.  Lookin good!

Also first cooks with the new gasket. Nothing special. Some ribs, burgers, aubergine and tandoori chicken which was particularly good

Neat installation and nice first cooks. My advice for everyone, stock up on gaskets now for 10+ years down the road when your gasket is toasted. I doubt our friend @RRP will still be supplying gaskets in his nineties 😀 ?

I bought a gasket for the XL before I bought the XL
  • Glad to hear that, @RRP. Had the gaskets not been so tough and long lasting, I would be buying more from you!

This reminds that I need to install the Rutland that I got from @RRP some years back on the mini. It’s been gasketless for quite some time.

Knackered - how to tell someone you're from the UK without saying you're from the UK.

    Nice install.

Have you got the LetzQ rotisserie? The UK vendor said that the Rutland gasket wouldn't work with it, but he doesn't have one installed. Just wondered if you had one.

    I don’t have it I’m afraid
  • I bought an extra last time and hope that I can find it when needed. If not I'll just sign in here and hit Ron up again. Money well spent with a good dude.

Now there's a member who has logged some serious submerged and undetected time.  Glad you have surfaced and reengaged.  The place needs more participation across the spectrum.
