I am currently the happy owner of a well seasoned Blackstone 28in 2 burners griddle. I am looking to upgrade to a Weber slate 30in or maybe even the 36in. I am turning to the forum wisdom for advice. Anyone here with actual experience with one?

Nice!Re: your query, are you asking about folks’ experience with a BS griddle, or specifically the Weber griddles?I have the same BS, and love it. Bought it on sale many moons ago, and have most definitely got my money’s worth out of it. Don’t use it as much as I should, but really like having it as an option.Yes, it gets a tad rusty because I neglect it, but takes less than 10 mins to re-season.If looking for recipes/cooking methods, check out our very own @tarheelmatt ‘s The Hungry Hussey channel on YT.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

@caliking I use my blackstone a lot. I am looking for an upgrade mostly because the cover on mine is the removable hard cover and the grease pan/collector is at the back. Someone forgot to install it on a recent cook and it did quite a mess. It also fell once when lifting the hard cover… SWMBO is « forcing » me to consider other options, I won’t argue 🤣😂
The Weber slate grease pan is easily accessible from the front. I kinda like the storage system. The cover is built-in.
I want to make sure it is a good choice. I have also seen that Traeger is making a fine looking one. Looking for advice from someone who has one.____________________Entrepreneurs are simply those who understand that there is little difference between obstacle and opportunity and are able to turn both to their advantage. •Niccolo Machiavelli -
Got it. Did not know if this was your first griddle, or whether you already had experience with one.
Sounds like you're looking for incremental design improvements, and Weber doesn't slack. Plus, I'm usually in favor of upgrading to more cooking real estate

Cajun fryer also makes two with stainless tops. Trying to find more information on them. The deep fryers they make are fantastic.

Repeating to myself: I do not need a fryer, I do not need a fryer 🤣😂____________________Entrepreneurs are simply those who understand that there is little difference between obstacle and opportunity and are able to turn both to their advantage. •Niccolo Machiavelli -
I’ve got a BlackStone 36 and I agree with you that the grease trap at the back can be a pain, and the removable cover is awkward. Check out the Griddle King on YT, he’s done in-depth reviews on all the recent griddle manufacturers, including the Traeger Flat Rock.XL BGE

Interesting, I noticed all their smokin' grills (gas and charcoal) are discontinued.

One has to wonder how long they've been making griddles and if they'll pull the plug on them as they did with the grills?canuckland -
The grill market is flooded with so many options and the griddle market is starting to be too. Despite the recent gain in popularity, it is still a niche market and most consumers are going for the brand names. I have a feeling that the tarifs had a role to play too. I suspect that some/many of the parts were imported and then assembled in the USA.Canugghead said:

I’m headed to the BBQ dealership this morning to check options. Still debating between Weber Slate and Traeger Flatrock…____________________Entrepreneurs are simply those who understand that there is little difference between obstacle and opportunity and are able to turn both to their advantage. •Niccolo Machiavelli -
I watched tons of reviews but I trust the experience of forum members, not so long ago, at least half a dozen members would have chimed in 🤷♂️Ragingirishman2 said:I’ve got a BlackStone 36 and I agree with you that the grease trap at the back can be a pain, and the removable cover is awkward. This place used to be a much friendlier place 🤣😂____________________Entrepreneurs are simply those who understand that there is little difference between obstacle and opportunity and are able to turn both to their advantage. •Niccolo Machiavelli
