Saturday Cook

I made up 2 loaves of white bread to be the foundation of a turkey sandwich.
I then smoked a turkey breast at 280 with some pecan wood. There was honey butter under the skin to keep the turkey basted and it was rubbed with Texas Sugar and Cowboy butter.
The sandwich was built with the sliced bread with garlic aioli, harvati cheese, butter lettuce, tomato, bacon, and the juicy smoked turkey. A great dinner sandwich.

Now that is going all out for a great looking banquet right there.  Nailed all the ingredients and the final assembly!

This looks fantastic and those loaves! Love them!
Also the turkey looks mouthwatering. You convinced me to cook one as soon as possible.
There might be a cultural bias but no one would imagine to put this type of effort in a sandwich here.
Just a side note on the round opening in the bread interior: I get that when using too much flower on the worktop before rolling to the final shape.
    Great cook

  • Beautiful. There is a sandwich connoisseur in this household and she would definitely approve.

Glorious! I love it when the hankering for a good sammich starts with "first, I gotta make some good bread..." Putting the effort in to upgrade the bread, absolutely elevates the the whole deal.

The turkey breast looks like it turned out. Whatta  sammie!

I appreciate the tip. This is my third time making bread, and my first with this recipe.
