The GA Mountain Fire & Smoke Cooking Festival 2025

The 2nd Annual Georgia Mountain Fire & Smoke Cooking Festival at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds (https://georgiamountainfairgrounds.com/localevents/id/446) on May 17th was a huge success. All the cooks/chefs came and dazzled the large crowds with their ‘best of the best’ recipes. All the dishes were prepared on our Big Green Eggs and our Primo XL Oval Ceramic Grills. The variety and quality of the food coming off these grills was beyond amazing. We had 105 cooks and 1800+ tasters in attendance.

We modeled this festival (and our previous 10 GA Mtn. Big Green Eggfests) after the ‘Old School’ Big Green Eggfests, i.e., no competitions, no people’s choice…………just a bunch of talented cooks doing what they love best and having fun doing it.

If you think you may want to come and join the fun and be a cook next year (May 15th and 16th) send me a message, fire_n_smoke@yahoo.com, and I’ll get you on my distribution list.

    Thanks for posting, John!

You summed it up perfectly: We modeled this festival (and our previous 10 GA Mtn. Big Green Eggfests) after the ‘Old School’ Big Green Eggfests, i.e., no competitions, no people’s choice…………just a bunch of talented cooks doing what they love best and having fun doing it.

Wow! That's quite the turnout! With 100+ cooks slinging grub, folks likely had to roll themselves home.

@egret - Looks like a great time, thanks for sharing the photos.  That pic titled "Greg H", is he a magician?  I've never seen steak levitation before.

I stopped doing the recipe file because they were looking like carbon copies of the previous year since the cooks always cook the same thing each year for the most part.

I loved the added tables around. My wife especially liked being able to have a place to set some of the larger samples down to dig in properly. Good weather, great food. I also liked the recipe list but agree lots of duplicates from year to year. Not a bad thing as we look forward to everything cooked!
