A test run of RRP's honeybun thought brought to life-

After reading @RRP 's brilliant thought I decided to give it a go. Below are some pics of this AM's adventure. Cooking details: SBGE indirect at around 325-350*F for 90 minutes to get the bacon rendered. (Heads up-any jam extending beyond the muffin edge will get quite crispy.)
The goods- The smoked CC is dusted with Swamp Venom.

Failed to get a construction pic but here are the two test muffins-The one on the left has the jalas. I omitted them from the one on the right. (The only changed variable.)

About to declare victory- (flipped after around 30 minutes.)

And the $$ shot-

I preferred the one w/o the jalas as their absence let the flavour (nod) of the hot pepper jam come thru. If you go with the jalas then you can skip the jam as the jalas dominate. You need a sharp knife to cut them as the bottom gets fairly hard even with the bacon.
I have "some make aheads" for tomorrow AM.
It was a fun cook and I will make 'em again.
Thanks for lookin.

I would devour those. Nicely executed.

Looks to be a tasty breakfast, thanks for sharing. English muffins have been added to the grocery list.

Prosciutto, white American cheese and apricot
smoker ham, white American cheese and apricot
jalapeno cream cheese and picklesI would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

Okay, all three flavors melded really well. The jalapeño/cream cheese/ pickle as the most surprising.
The bacon crisped nice and held everything well. The English-muffin stayed dry and didn’t absorb the fat from the bacon which was good. It almost stayed too dry and bland. I think heavier on the jelly would help. Although I think the texture isn’t right for these flavors. Need a slightly lighter and sweeter bread.

Valiant efforts, gentlemen.

The thickness and texture might be just right. Sliced thin enough, would be okay if they were not sweet by themselves.Legume said:CrumpetsI would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.
