Assuming (hate that word) the same grade of brisket??
Local butchers are definitely worth the research as that $$/lb is a long way from SRF. FWIW-Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint. -
That's a 7.5% increase, a 15lb brisket that $4.50.I don't know how many briskets a year you cook, but you might be better served checking out other stores. I'm not sure SRF is the solution for replacing a Walmart brisket.THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER

I could say so much here as we have all experienced price increases. SRF won’t save you $ but it’s a helluva lot better quality (most likely)LBGE, 28” BS, Weber Kettle, HCI 7.8 SE Texas

3 and 5 are the primary culprits IMO. Point 4 seems a bit of a stretch.Legume said:
Maybe I’m biased being in Texas but HEB is $3.91 all day (not sale price). Plus I also know plenty of ranchers that I can get lesser rates from but that’s a different economic metric.LBGE, 28” BS, Weber Kettle, HCI 7.8 SE Texas -
You might find this interesting with regard to #5

I saw a report a week or so ago, about how "prices will rise as far as the market will support".
I saw reports from 3 weeks to 3 years ago, about how "fast food" prices are gonna escalate (which they did).
Fast food (and, yeah, the whole Service industry) bitched about how prices will rise because their constant stream of immigrant workers throttled (by cheeto's border policies, and Pres. Biden's deportations (guess/google which was greater!).
Now, have you noticed?? Have you noticed the re-emergence of "Value Meals"? Of $2 Menus? Of $4.99 Meal Deals? They're everywhere. To quote myself, "...will rise as far as the market will support".
Burger King still advertises a $11.10 "Whopper Value Meal", on their drive-thru AND their in-store menu, which they REFUSE to sell; you have to upgrade to the Medium ($1.49 more) or the Large ($2.something more). If you DEMAND the $11.10 WVM, they'll just look at you (and please don't beat/shoot the clerks/managers for this; this is a Requirement from BK Corporate). Please don't blame the present Administration for inflation; it's driven, entirely, by corporate greed. Prove me wrong."Hallelujah, Noel, be it Heaven or Hell,

Could be, I don't know but would love to read about it. I just dug deeper on number 5 on that list and 1) seems to be valid and 2) looks like Biden's administration was trying to address it.alaskanassasin said:THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER -
I think the point @Botch is making is it is none of the popularly floated blames are the cause, it's corporate greed.alaskanassasin said:
