Finally made a table for the Joe Jr.

I milled all the lumber here from logs in the bush. Hope it stands up to the weather. I need to find a nice cover for it now. I was going to make it big enough for the LGE but it looked like it would be too big and heavy so I just went with a single for now.

Beautiful table, beautiful setting. We (in Canada) have a Montana Grill cover on a large table for an Egg and love it.
(Edit: Had it eight years. Just now starting to degrade.) -
Speechless!
I would rather light a candle than curse your darkness.

Incredible talent on display. Beautiful table.
On a side note, as I recall that rig will be fending for itself come winter when you roll down to FL and post those great photos of exotics. Love your photos!Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. You have a point. I do have a Joe Jr and a Joe Classic in FL but I don’t have to tools to build a table down there. This ones a little big for a carry on.lousubcap said:Incredible talent on display. Beautiful table.

Outstanding! What type of wood is that? Did you personally mill it with like a chainsaw milll?South of Columbus, Ohio.

It’s ash from the bush on our property. I have a lot of it, was killed by the emerald ash borer. We have a small bandsaw mill and cut the trees up here. It has some character from being damaged and laying on the ground for a while.alaskanassasin said:Outstanding! What type of wood is that? like to mill I just need to make time. The ash borer came through here about 5 years ago, I have a 3 acre wooded lot and it killed 72 ash trees.

Nice job. Was that design made to take a large grill since i
t is sitting up higher?I put a 2nd drawer under the smaller grills to get it up higher -
I laid it out that way to accommodate the jr stand but changed my mind on using the stand after my brother bought the feet for my birthday..Tspud1 said:Nice job. Was that design made to take a large grill since i

will you end up putting some platform under Jr to keep him at correct height?
-
It’s at the correct height with the blocks in there but I am making a shelf to replace the blocks, that will give me another place to store the tools. I would put in a drawer but it would not be the same size as the drawer on the right and would look strange.Tspud1 said:will you end up putting some platform under Jr to keep him at correct height? In the bush just East of Cambridge,Ontario -

Thanks for all the comments. I book matched the panels on the back and the ends, the cutting board in the top drawer gives me an extra work surface and it slides back so I have access to the drawer as well. I also repaired a split with epoxy and a walnut bow tie. I made the handles, after doing all the work I couldn’t just screw on store bought handles.

next you could add a drop down shelf on left side if material available. mighty fine work, wish I had any wood skills, all metal here
-
I actually thought of that, I have lots of material, just don’t know that I really need it with the top and the pull out drawer.Tspud1 said:next you could add a drop down shelf on left side if material available. mighty fine work, wish I had any wood skills, all metal here
