vent in back?

I am putting in a lower deck with a 8 foot long table. I would like to build in a [yet to be purchased] minimax at one end to do grill to plate cooking. Any thing reasonable sized would be on the upper deck large egg, but things like skewers/kabobs  or dessert things like smores/waffles is what I am thinking.

I want the MX egg to open out toward the table, giving people a view of the grill as they pass their plate to be served something. The problem is that puts the bottom vent under the table which would be awkward for adjusting air flow but impossible for cleaning.

What I am considering is loosening the band and rotating the bottom dome so that the hinge is above the bottom vent. this would have the vent exposed at the end of the table behind the egg to make cleaning possible. Adjustments would be done by reaching  around the back but that's arm length on an MX.

Anyone know of an issue with doing this? From what I can tell off videos, the only distinguishing things on the bottom dome are the vent and an alignment mark for aligning with a matching one on the top dome.

Thanks.

Why not build a lazy susan so you can spin the egg around for presentation purposes?

Egg doesn’t know front from back unless lid is open.  It will work fine, the hottest spot will still probably be opposite the vent, so on the side you are opening now.

Thank you, @DoubleEgger and @Ozzie_Isaac for understanding his issue and desired result. I, on the other hand, must have read his post umpteen times since he first posted it at 1:50 today. I guess I have sh*t for brains! What is the issue? And what is the desired result?
