If a part that has the limited lifetime warranty has to be bought out of pocket because one can’t meet all of the new warranty obligations does the new part come with its own limited lifetime warranty?

Yes, if purchased through a certified dealer."The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple and it makes bacon. Let's see Michael Phelps do that" - Jim Gaffigan

What if where you bought from isn't a dealer anymore? My place only sells gas grills now.

I'd email BGE warranty department and explain your situation. If you have another dealer nearby I'd stop in and explain your situation with your original purchase receipt and they should be able to help you."The pig is an amazing animal. I think MANY/MOST of us older eggers are screwed! MANY of our dealers which FIRST put BGE in the minds of MOST of us are now out of biz...I know THAT is the sinking/stinking boat that I am in!!!

I just went through the new warrenty obstacle. My large and small eggs both had broken fire boxes. My original dealer is long gone and the dealer I have been getting parts from is no longer selling BGE’s. I found a ACE Hardware store near me that would help me but because of BGE’s new policy I would need to have my original receipt. Now I bought both my eggs in 2005, one in the beginning of the year and the other in the fall. Needing the original receipts I figured I was screwed. When I told my wife what the situation was, she told me to pull down the attic stairs. My wife goes into the attic and comes down with a box that says 2005 - 2008 receipt’s. In that box were the 2 receipts for my eggs. My wife saved the day! I went back to ACE and within a week I had my replacement fire boxes. Believe me my wife got a well deserved present.Everyday is Saturday and tomorrow is always Sunday.

would it be dishonest for an original owner that filled out the bge warranty card and sent it in and lost his original receipt to use an online receipt generator and recreate his lost receipt....asking for a friend.... bge changed the rules which is not exactly honest

I both registered my receipt with BGE and took pictures of it and the serial numbers justews to avoid hanging onto a piece of paper. As was recommended at the time I bought it from ACE. Maybe BGE could turn the screws on their quality control department instead of their customers?

heres the funny thing, my 1991 just had the serial number penciled on the dome, ticonderoga number 2,gone after the first cook. my 1995 i later found on the base hidden under the gasket of all places.......both eggs were bought online from a warehouse in tennessee, in 1996 they stopped the warranty with online sales. bge originally sent me the warehouse number to order the egg as they didnt have a dealer in the area. i still dont know what the registration cards were forfukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it -
I’m a very longtime lurker on this site. Commenting on this older post because I just went through the warranty claim procedure on a large base from an egg purchased back in 2013, which I obviously didn’t keep the receipt after registering. I shot an email to customer service as well as to an old email contact I had for Bruce from 2015. (I told you I’m a longtime lurker). Surprisingly, I got a reply from Bruce clearing the air on that whole warranty/receipt thing. As long as you registered it, you are good. I found a phenomenal dealer in my OKC area and had a new part within a week. I know I was personally a bit concerned about the receipt talk so wanted to drop a bit about my recent experience for anyone else that might be wondering

I put in a warranty claim this spring for a cracked base and firebox on my XL. I had the original receipt and it was registered. The dealer I bought from had closed, so I went to another local dealer. No hassle at all. 2 weeks later, I picked up my new base and firebox.Living the good life smoking and joking

Just put in a claim for Large Base & Fire Bowl, Mini Base, Fire bowl and Fire Ring. Dealer is still hanging in there. I wonder if in the future BGE will acknowledge these Eggs are under warranty if I show them the current emails between me and the dealer.

I think a lot on second owners were getting our warranties. BGE some how had to control this. It is a huge pain to original and registered owners. I had to have original receipt and serial number of my egg. I contacted BGE for serial number got for both my eggs. I have the receipts. still no parts but it was approved by BGE.

When I bought my Egg in 2011 it had no serial number. Believe me, I looked for it everywhere and it simply wasn't there. Fortunately, when I needed a warranty replacement firebox, I had scanned the original receipt into a PDF. Printed it out and took it to the dealer, who honored it with no question.Cincinnati, Ohio. Large BGE since 2011. Still learning.
