Excellent cut to be hooked on and you did it proud. $$$$ shot for the win.

FlatIron has been a favorite of mine here for years! Just like other cuts also with non familiar names such as tri-tip there are MANY GREAT cuts!Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

Nice. Where are you picking up the cut? Specialty butcher?

I get them at Farm Boy. I have also found them at a local Italian store (Vincenzos).GrateEggspectations said:Nice. Where are you picking up the cut? Specialty butcher?I will keep my eyes open for a hanger steak, I believe I have seen them at Vincenzos. In the bush just East of Cambridge,Ontario -
I can get them at Kroger and other grocery store chains. They are pre-packaged, not cut at the store. I don't think I have seen them in the meat counter, but I am sure it is a regional thing.GrateEggspectations said:Nice. Where are you picking up the cut? Specialty butcher?

for me flat iron, hanger and tri tip are kissing cousins to the strip. If you get a good one, can't beat them for flavor and meatiness. For some reason, picanha, similar too, does not do it for me.....
