Looks good to me but I just wanted to check if anyone else has used it. I do not love having to purchase a new felt gasket so often, this one looks like it will last a few years.

    Tons of people here have applied those. @rrp deals in them and can answer any question you may have. 

    In case it’s helpful, I’ll mention that I’ve applied them on four Eggs and wouldn’t consider going without one again. They last forever.

    I am in the process of seeing what my wholesaler can find out about availability and cost.

    But one SERIOUS flaw I see that they are recommending that a strip be applies to both base and dome! That will mean the gaskets will be rubbing against each other and will cause the material to wear and break the fibers. That also will mean that the planes of the dome and base will go out of whack requiring the need to adjust the bands - otherwise the rear will sit down first and cause a gap in the front.

    No - not at all. As I said I have contacted my wholesaler and I hope I can procure these to add to what I have sold now for 21 years. I'm just a little skeptical, but there definitely are eggers to whom this simplicity will appeal.

    This is VERY new and they don't even have samples out to their sales reps yet!

    I assume this has been created with the blessings of BGE since the package uses an artful image of a BGE plus says it is "Compatible with Big Green Egg Products". Other companies have had come to Jesus threats by BGE lawyers for unlicensed uses of the image and name. An excellent example was SmokeWare was originally called Eggware until "the meeting"!

    i have had problems with the 3m sticky back and high temps. the gasket on the dome will literally fall off

    The crappy video says the original gasket last one clean burn cycle, while theirs lasts FIVE.  Why five and not four, six, or a dozen?  Just an odd claim to make in my mind as it's surely the adhesive and not the material.

    Judging by the rest of the video, they do not have licensing rights nor put much thought into this.  It's about time they got into this market though.  With some better marketing they'll sell more to the bbq world than the wood stove world.

    In the past many people have posted that they have been replacing our gasket kit with Rutland Gasket. Today, after we were asked if we would recomend this we contacted Rutland. Rutland gasket replied that they would NOT use any fiberglass gasket around food. As the dome is opened and closed small pieces of gasket may break off and get in the food. Again this comes straight from Rutland, do not use Rutland gasket with any grill or anywhere around food.

    Eating a few fiberglass fibers isn’t going to be a problem. Once the gasket gets some grease on it, the chances of fibers falling in/on food are pretty low anyways. 

    Inhaling fiberglass fibers, regularly, over time, is an entirely different matter.
