OT: Snow Ice Cream?: OT

All the new, fresh snow is now toxic…lol

Any of you older eggers who were raised or lived in colder states know what I’m talking about?

BTW I do believe that was when I first learned the term about not collecting the yellow snow!

Places here still serve slush with ice cream, sounds similar. I miss the old fountain bars, was prolly ten when the last one closed

I'm currently researching blenders, as the membrane switches in my current KitchenAid went Tango-Uniform (and I now officially hate membrane switches).  
Anyhoo, along with the standard ratings of Soup, Smoothies, Crushed Ice, Nut Butters, and Sauces, many comparisons include an "Ice Cream" category.
 
Wha?!?  You can't make ice cream in a blender!  
Finally found a couple videos: some milk, agave nectar, some kinda white powder, spinach (blech!) and a dozen ice cubes.  Guy hits the "Ice Cream" preset, and a couple minutes later it looked  like ice cream...  but, no thanks.

Ron, I've never had "snow" ice cream, but I do remember a fantastic treat in the Bitterroot Mts in Montana.  Went on a week-long photography backpacking trip, with three llamas that carried our tents/bags/food, we only had to carry our own camera gear.  The guides knew of some fantastic vistas, how to find the critters, and the wife cooked fantastic meals over a campfire.  There were pockets of snow here and there in the shade (even in early July) and she'd fill a pitcher with clean snow, water from the stream (above the "beaver dam" line so no giardia threat) and then stirred in Tang.  Even on a cold morning, that stuff was fantastic!  I need to make some here now.  Cool trip.  And I learned nothing can wake you up faster than a bull elk bugling 20 feet outside your tent at OMG:30!
