I don’t see a way to directly respond to someone’s comment without adding a new comment

How can this be done?

You need to add a new comment, or send them a PM/DM, but don't accidentally leave it on their wall.

@BigBuford -You could respond to the user as I am doing here. They will get a notification (Look on the right column on this page under "My Profile" ) after you post your comment. The Notification you will receive after I post this should state something like "@SamIAm2 mentioned you in Responding to a Comment"
