cooking pre-cooked spiral cut ham on EGG

Unknown
edited November -0001 in EggHead Forum
My wife..bless her heart..buys this pre-cooked spiral cut ham and asks me to slow cook it on the egg. Right. It's thawing in the fridge and it's what's for dinner tomorrow night with homemade macNcheese. Any creative ideas on how to cook this and how long at what temp?[p]Thanks![p]Greg

    guava greg,
    don't slow cook it.
they are pre-cooked, and you only need to heat it up.
the spiral cut ones have a tendency to dry out.[p]foil it for as long as possible and then add a touch of smoke at the end (foil off, of course). you'll find this is one of the very few cooks that the egg doesn't transform into some sublime other thing.[p]but do add smoke. sill much better than the oven.

  • guava greg,
I've done a couple and I just follow the directions on the package. Like stike says, it only needs to be heated up, but add some smoke.[p]TNW

    guava greg,
ive put them in a pan sitting in juice and sugar/honey and basted, flipped it a few times while heating, your not cooking it, just getting it warm to your liking.
