To the old Eggers JJ

I was making some rubs the other day and I usually make JJ's rub at least once a year. I was just wondering how long ago was it that he passed away? I am embarrassed that I have forgotten. We have losta lot of good eggers and contributors over the years. Has any one given thought to a memorial page? Just something to remember the past.

Jake,
One of the times I remember most about JJ was when I first got the egg and I was trying to do the 3-1-1 method to cook them. He told me that "if you want to ruin good ribs do them that way, if you want good ribs they must be direct." That started quite a long thread for the way he wrote back to my post.
He did apologize to me, and we e mailed each other quite often after that. Especially the first time I did them direct we talked to one another on the phone during the cook.
