1st Gen Kamado Joe XL?

Had a plumber here today that has the 1st gen kmando joe XL and he mentioned he had to wedge the dome in order
to keep it up.  I told him BGE band set for an XL might be a good replacement.
Was I wrong?

    I believe the Kamado Joe XL version is 24". I could be wrong....

    The band assembly on the XL KJ is very different from the BGE. 
    Would be better for plumber to contact KJ and fix his problem the right way. They also have great customer service. Or at least that was my experience.
