BGE Warranty turn around.

Very slow, has been a week since I submitted a claim for a crack fire box. Been cooking on a gasser! Don't make me buy a komado Joe !!

I sent in my claim in for a cracked base on 1/14/22. It took about a month for the dealer to receive it but unfortunately it arrived in pieces. So it looks like 2-4 weeks more. Supply Chain delays are primarily responsible plus you are at the mercy of your dealer as their distributor may have the part in stock and are waiting on your dealer to order stock before you it is shipped.

I will call ACE tomorrow just for giggles. Seems that BGE is slow in processing the claim.  Just very frustrating. I have gotten so spoiled by the BGE, do not know how I managed with the Weber Kettle. I may have to fire that up as I am missing the charcoal .....

huh? You do know don't you that you can continue to use a cracked fire box don't you? MANY of us have used fire boxes in multiple pieces like a jig saw puzzle.

There are circumstances where one would absolutely not use a cracked firebox, for example, if they were OCD.

Like RRP mentioned, you still use a cracked firebox. Heck, CWM brought this small to an Denver Eggfest and his firebox was in at 4 pieces, maybe more.  :D

My Small was in 5 pieces for years even though I already had a replacement fire box stored in my garage!

My XL is in at least 5 pieces.  Has been for around 2 years.  I have a brand new one in the garage.

How's the Kamado Joe warranty service?  Serious question, I guess we never hear how long their stuff takes.  I am not even sure where I would go to get KJ parts.

I have a KJ, submitted two claims. The weirdest thing is they don't say the claim is approved or received, the replacement part just showed up. I would say from the time to submitting to getting my replacement it was incredibly fast.

To all, I did not know it was OK to continue to use with a cracked firebox. Probably OK since I have the BGE stainless firebowl  Thanks !

I used my crack firebox for a month until I received my replacement. But I am not comfortable using it with a cracked base. Good thing I have a gas grill and most recently my Recteq.

Jeez. Does the dealer you submitted the claim to stock a bunch of Eggs? Ask if he will take your replacement part from one of the Eggs in the warehouse. That's what I do. Keeps the customer happy and Egg'n and I'll get the warranty item on my next delivery.

IMO, BGE should do the triage on all warranty claims then search their database for a dealer near you and tell the dealer to give you the part.  Service quality would go way up, unless they drop the ball themselves.

If someone can just tell me what happens to the registration cards.  I fill it out and send it to BGE corporate, however all warranty is done through purchase receipt and local dealers only.

I broke so much crap on my egg so fast in the beginning the distributor rep requested a copy of my sales receipt. I told him its registered with bge corporate, look it up. He said the distributor and dealers handle warranty and they don't have access to registrations. So I guess I am saying, what is the point of registering.

I took a peek that the Kamado Joe website what a crappy web site. Took me a bit to figure out what the difference was between the Classic Joe I, II, III ... all about what goodies are included. I am looking to add a mini to my grilling stuff, the Joe Jr is half the price. Any experience with it

I grabbed a Joe Jr on Black Friday from the Walmart website. It was like $350 (somewhere around there). It is a fun little grill to complement a larger one. Everything is included with it.
