    I have read that about ten low n' slo's wood be cool to do. Use one to play with your slider and stainless damper. The learning will be a benifet (spelling) to you later as you learn your egg. Have fun. Learning is an exciting adventure. Food ain't bad either. Miles out.

    folklore says you should restrict the first 8 or so cooks to 400 or lower, to "set" the gasket.

    i never did, but you might want to play safe. other than that, no seasoning is required (for the BGE anyway)

    I talked to Customer Support yesterday in preparation to getting my BGE. Advise was to start slow to get the feel of the grill. It was explained to me that new grills heat up faster. These grills can go from cold to REAL HOT REAL FAST. Maybe cook burgers at first.
